What is Sculptra and how is it different from other fillers?

Sculptra, unlike other fillers, actually stimulates your face to produce natural collagen that result in volume restoration.  This is a very powerful option for patients who desire a natural facial and eyelid rejuvenation.  The results in Dr. Azizzadeh’s experience can last upto three years which makes this one of the longest-lasting fillers.  Several treatments are required to obtain the final results which also has an added benefit of gradually returning your face to a  more youthful appearance for individuals who want to be discrete about having cosmetic enhancements.   

Is Botox/Dysport an injectable filler?

No, Botox and Dysport do not act like typical injectable fillers. When BOTOX or Dysport are utilized in an area with wrinkles; BOTOX ® will block the signals that a nerve sends to the muscles thereby resulting in the relaxation of the muscle. Since BOTOX ® works in this fashion, it is not considered an injectable “filler.”

How do hyaluronic acid treatments work?

Hyaluronic acids such as Restylane, Perlane and Juvederm are proteins that are naturally found in the skin. These fillers absorb the surrounding water molecules in your face, and add volume to the treated area. Some studies have shown that these fillers, may also increase your natural collagen production.

Restylane along with Juvederm and Perlane do not require the same skin testing the collagen does. These treatments can be initiated on your first office visit, since there are no allergic side effects. These fillers are also long-lasting, and last around six to nine months depending on area of use.  Dr. Azizzadeh typically uses Restylane for under-eye non-surgical eyelift, juvederm for lip augmentation and Perlane for cheek augmentation and nasolabial folds.

What is Radiesse and why should I use this product in place of other fillers?

Radiesse is a natural protein found in human body (calcium hydroxylapatite) that can be an excellent “structural filler.”  Dr. Azizzadeh loves using this product to enhance the appearance of the cheeks and straighten the jaw line.  He also uses Radiesse for individuals who are seeking a longer-lasting filler as it typically lasts about one year. 

What areas can I treat with injectable fillers?

Frequently injectable fillers are used to add volume to the face and smooth facial wrinkles. Some of the locations of injectable fillers may be utilized are.

·       Under the eyes to smooth out hollows such as tear trough deformity (non-surgical eyelift)
