Revision Facelift Procedure

How a revision facelift is performed

Dr. Azizzadeh utilizes a technique called short flap rhytidectomy facelift. A short flap rhytidectomy or SFR facelift uses short skin flap dissection. By using a short skin flap dissection Dr. Azizzadeh lowers the risk of skin complications, which is very important for people utilizing a revision or secondary facelift procedure. Dr. Azizzadeh will take your underlying tissue and muscles and elevate them with a skin flap in the appropriate areas to improve both your neck and facial appearance. By the utilizing a SFR facelift Dr. Azizzadeh will perform fat grafting into your cheeks, and the midface area, which traditionally do not receive attention during a traditional facelift. The benefit of utilizing these techniques will allow you to utilize a chemical TCA peel in the future with limited risk to your skin.

One of the benefits of utilizing a SFR facelift is the short downtime for patients, allowing them to return to work within one week to 10 days. Another benefit with this procedure is that Dr. Azizzadeh is able to lessen the risk of injury to your facial nerves for patients that have had extensive facelift or cosmetic surgery procedures.

Many times Dr. Azizzadeh will perform, eyelid surgery, a cheek or chin implant, along with a forehead lift, in conjunction with a revision facelift procedure.

If the incisions for the revision facelift are the same opening points for the original traditional facelift, there is typically less post operative bleeding and swelling from the subject. With this said, each revision facelift procedure is a unique operation and Dr. Azizzadeh will examine you carefully and review everything with you prior to your surgery date.
