Sculptra®

Many people turn to collagen dermal filling products as temporary alternatives to the invasive and expensive option of plastic surgery. It is  entirely non-toxic, as it consists of Poly-L-Lactic acid: a material absorbed and accepted as safe by the human body. Poly-L-Lactic acid has been used safely and confidently in professional medical science for a quarter of a century, in objects such as soft tissue implants. 

Sculptra® has been hugely successful, not as a rival to dermal fillers such as Restylane® or botox, but as a complimentary treatment. You see, the benefits of Sculptra® can last for over two years, but they often take a month or two to begin working. This is why the simultaneous use of a different dermal filler (one which produces immediate effects) is the best way to begin this particular, longer lasting treatment. 

The reason that Sculptra® takes a while to work, is because unlike others, it doesn't just replenish depleted stores of the skin's natural collagen and acids. Instead, Sculptra® stimulates the production of natural collagen made within the skin by the body itself. This means that the product doesn't imitate your body's natural collagen, but causes it to produce it in its pure form. This authentic collagen isn't absorbed by the body as quickly as some other biocompatible dermal fillers, which is what gives it such long lasting benefits.
